Difference Between Bamboo and Cotton Bed Sheets

  • Comfort - The softness of bamboo and cotton bed sheets differ according to their type and thread count respectively. However, in general, the former tends to be softer and silkier than the latter.
  • Environmental impact - Bamboo bed sheets are known to be environmentally friendly as chemical substances such as fertilisers and pesticides aren’t usually required when growing the bamboo plant. On the other hand, such substances are used for cotton plants, making these bed linens less eco-friendly. Do note, however, that some varieties of bamboo sheets are manufactured using chemical processes!
  • Breathability - While both bamboo and cotton bed linens are relatively breathable, the latter tends to retain more heat. As such, these sheets may be the preferred choice among hot sleepers as they keep them cool and comfortable throughout the night!
